Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a number of ongoing programs that we have with the Department of Defense.

Requirements

• At least a BS in Mechanical Engineering, with a Master’s degree preferred
• 5 years experience required
• Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical and mechanism design
• Demonstrated competence in structural analysis and solid mechanics, to include the use of the Finite Element Method
• Solid background in Engineering Science fundamentals – fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, control theory, advanced engineering mathematics, engineering simulation
• Familiarity with the capabilities of general machine shop tools & manufacturing techniques
• Experience designing systems according to MILSPEC and/or related DoD performance specifications
• Ability to qualitatively or quantitatively estimate the manufacturability of a mechanical design
• Computer skills – Microsoft Office or equivalent), at least one solid modeling system (SolidWorks, Pro Engineer, IronCad, etc.) and some experience with or exposure to a commercial engineering analysis code (Nastran, ANSYS, Algor, Fluent, etc.)
• Familiarity with basic electrical circuitry, especially control electronics, is a plus
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability and willingness to travel for customer briefings and field testing
• US citizenship required for security clearance purposes
